Open April through November on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, located at 131 S Chatham St. in Siler City, the Siler City Farmers’ Market was formed to fill the void in Saturday markets. Folks in our area had to go out of the county to get fresh produce, and farmers had to do the same to sell.
Our non-traditional opening hour of 9:00 am was chosen to allow our vendors time to pick or bake that morning, assuring the freshest possible products.
In 2017, we moved to the new Oasis Open Air Market location, which puts us back in our original spot that the market opened in all those years ago. We have been well-pleased with the move, and encourage everyone to come out and experience the Oasis.
Although we do occasionally invite a guest vendor, such as the shrimp guy, to join us, all of our members are located within 50 miles of Siler City, so most purchases made at our market are grown or made locally.
Our market is a participating member in the N.C. 10% Campaign, which encourages folks to commit 10% of their food budget to purchasing local food. See our “links” page to connect to their web site.
